This gathering celebrates the legacy of one of Alabama’s greatest old-time fiddlers, Charlie Stripling (1896-1966) of Kennedy, with reminiscences by family and friends, the premier of a video about the musical Stripling family, and a concert by musicians who have been influenced by Stripling recordings made in the 1920s and ‘30s. Old-time and bluegrass musicians are invited to jam before and after the program.
Doors open at noon for jamming and program starts at 2:00 pm. Fish fry starts at 6:00 pm. The program is free and the fish fry is $9.00 per plate.
