Flatline Bluegrass Band

Flatline Bluegrass

Originated in the early part of 2010, Flatline is composed of a group of close friends from the North Georgia Mountains that all have a passion for making bluegrass music. Playing bluegrass music has been the glue that has bonded these incredible musicians for so long that the creation of Flatline is almost second nature. Driving bluegrass music has been the separating factor that has defined the many late night jams prior to Flatline and with the addition of unstoppable singers, Flatline is a force to be reckoned with. Featured as the lead singer in Flatline is Jeff Haynes from Cumming, Georgia by way of Seminary, Mississippi. Jeff has been playing bluegrass music for many years and his experience has allowed him to bring wisdom and creativity along with his incredible vocal talents to Flatline. Singing all the parts, Brad Kaylor is an incredible singer that brings a sound of the little country church to the mainstream styling’s of Flatline. Classically trained as a southern gospel singer, Brad has a vocal range that is unmatched for most bluegrass vocalists. Hailing from Mineral Bluff, Georgia, Brad will also bring the drive to Flatline as the bass player. Playing the rhythm guitar from Jasper, Georgia, Adam McFarland has worked tirelessly to perfect a style of rhythm guitar playing and singing that will be the driving force of Flatline’s instrumental prowess. Award winning multi-instrumentalist Brett Cantrell, from Cherry Log, Georgia has been playing music since he was big enough to tote an instrument. Brett will be featured as Flatline’s mandolin player, but his incredible talents have allowed him to quickly become a masterful fiddle player. Along with the mandolin and fiddle, he also lends vocal depth to FlatLine by taking his turn on lead vocals as well as filling out the harmonies. Brett’s musical talents have been nurtured under the watchful eye of his grandfather, notable North Georgia bluegrasser, Ralph Chancey. Playing banjo, from Cherry Log, Georgia, Kyle Davis has recently stepped out of a life of college football into a whole new world of banjo picking. Drawing from his mountain heritage and the musical styling’s of the banjo legends, Kyle adds his high energy, driving style of banjo playing to the stable of talent that is Flatline. Marketed as one of the most “High Energy” bluegrass groups emerging onto the scene of bluegrass music, Flatline finished up a busy 2010 season by winning the award for Best Bluegrass Group at the Georgia Mountain Fiddler’s Convention. Receiving this award makes Flatline the 2010 Georgia State Champions. Flatline is excited about playing a full schedule in 2011 and taking their award winning sound to crowds across the southeast.
