Comprised of four talented musicians from the State of Mississippi, Alan Sibley & The Magnolia Ramblers have become one of the Magnolia State’s most popular Bluegrass bands.  The band consists of multi-talented singer/songwriter/musician Alan Sibley, veteran guitarist Bo Collier, banjo player J.R. Willis, and bass player Mark Brown.      

Alan Sibley from Ackerman, MS plays mandolin, guitar, and fiddle.  He also does the lead singing and most of the talking for the group.  Alan began his career playing mandolin with the Legendary First Family of Bluegrass Gospel “The Sullivan Family” in 2001 at the age of fifteen.  During the first four years of his musical career Alan toured almost continuously and played Bluegrass Gospel music in thirty states.  After leaving “The Sullivan Family” Alan worked with two of the Deep South’s more prominent bluegrass bands, “The Larry Wallace Band” and “Jerry & Tammy Sullivan”.  Alan was recently voted The Magnolia State Bluegrass Association’s 2010 Male Vocalist of the Year.

Bo Collier from Union, MS plays rhythm guitar for the band and is a 49 year veteran of Bluegrass music. He has played numerous festivals across the South with many different bands including “Southern Blend” and “Texas Winds“.  Bo was also very involved in the Bluegrass music scene of the Houston and Dallas areas of East Texas where he was a resident of 30 years and served a two year term as vice-president of the Southwest Bluegrass Association.

J.R. Willis is an accomplished and innovative banjo player from Philadelphia, MS.  J.R. worked several years with “The Sullivan Family” playing Bluegrass Gospel Music across the United States.

Mark Brown from Starkville, MS is the newest member of the band and does a great job playing bass.
